Our Story
Mighty Orphans Outreach & Ministry Uganda
Mighty Orphanage, under the umbrella organization of Mighty Orphans Outreach and Ministry Uganda in the district of Bugiri in eastern Uganda, is home to 39 children ages 3 to 16 yrs. It was founded by a young man, Iman Mugoya, in 2019. Himself an orphaned street child, Iman promised himself and the man who took him under his wings that someday he would also help other children in need. Thus started his vision and passion for an orphanage after he took in five homeless boys in his care. Since then, the number grew over the years to the size it is now. Mukisa Falouk, a school teacher by profession, also himself a street kid, joined Iman to help with the administration of Mighty Orphanage in 2019. In addition to Iman and Mukisa a cook, a security guard, and a matron comprise the staff of the orphanage. In 2020, Mighty Orphans Outreach and Ministry Uganda was officially registered as a Community- based Organization that is supported and funded by donors mainly from Canada and the United States.

Mighty Orphans Canada
With the sole purpose of providing for the physical, mental and spiritual needs of the children at the orphanage, Mighty Orphans Canada sends funds for food, tuition fees, uniforms and school supplies; medical and dental care; shipments of clothes, shoes, etc. and other necessities. To date, various projects have been completed such as the boys’ dormitory, girls and boy’s washrooms, kitchen and dining room. To increase security and protection of the children and staff, Mighty Orphans Canada helped fund the building of a wall around the periphery of the compound and also built a guard station. Adequate lighting has been installed in every building and the grounds of the compound using solar energy.
To date, an existing well has fallen in disrepair and a construction of another well is being planned. A nearby well is their primary source of water. A guest house has been built to accommodate guests who wish to visit or do a mission trip to the orphanage. Mighty Orphans Canada seeks to provide ways to help them with sustainability and self-sufficiency, such as purchasing two motorcycles that service as a transport vehicle that is income-generating, a small poultry, three cows, a garden, and a start up used clothing sales business at the local market.
Education and Church
Most of the children go to a nearby primary school, a walking distance from the compound. The secondary school-age children go to school a little farther away; and about four sponsored children are in boarding schools.
The Bugiri Seventh-day Adventist church is five kilometers away where the children attend Sabbath School and Divine Service where they are exposed to a family of believers, but above all, that they will grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Our Current and Future Projects
The needs of the orphanage are numerous but, by God’s grace and through the assistance of our committed donors, we shall accomplish them in time. Specifically, as mentioned, the next big project is to construct a new well within the compound that will provide safe and clean water. We pray, according to God’s will, that electrical power lines will also be installed in the future. An ongoing need is for sponsors to help fund the education of the secondary school children. Donations towards meeting their daily needs are appreciated so that every single child in our care will thrive and flourishwith a hope for a bright future.
